If you are not familiar with the term, the Internet of Things refers to a dramatic development in the internet’s function: the fact that, even more than among people, it now enables communication among physical objects. By 2015, according to my own firm’s projections, not only will 75 percent of the world’s population have access to the internet. So will some six billion devices. The fact that there will be a global system of interconnected computer networks, sensors, actuators, and devices all using the internet protocol holds so much potential to change our lives that it is often referred to as the internet’s next generation.
For managers, this development creates challenges both long-term and urgent. They need to envision the valuable new offerings that become possible when the physical world is merged with the virtual world and potentially every physical object can be both intelligent and networked. And, starting now, they must create the organizations and web-based business models that can turn these ideas into reality.  READ REST OF STORY

The internet of things consists of any object of the world connected to the internet and able to retrieve and send data. It is important because it is changing the way we do daily activities anywhere we are. This includes controlling your house from your phone with systems like Vivint, or even monitor a persons blood sugar with diabetes letting them know whenever they need to take there insulin shot. it’s changing the way people live there everyday lives which can be both a good and a bad thing. Increasing security risks is always a concern with this kind of technology being introduced, but as long as there is strict regulations as this technology moves forward, it leads to endless opportunities.

Almost everything around us is a part of the Internet of Things. If it is connected to the internet and can send and receive data, then it is included. This includes like peoples homes and vehicles. Even things as small as your coffee machine, or toaster. With companies like Vivint, people are able to download an app on there phone and control almost anything from it. This includes locking and unlocking there doors, changing the temperature on their thermostat, and even turning on there coffee machine from bed. The Internet of things is endless and has so many possibilities for the future.

    1. What is the INTERNET of THINGS and why is it important?
The internet of things is linking everything through the internet. The ability to access all of your needs through the internet is something that most people look for. The ease of access is a growing commodity in this world and having your new device or your new service easily accessible is a high selling point in every industry. If I can’t find your service through a 1 minute Google search I’m most likely not using your product.
    2. List some market technologies that you see around you that are part of this INTERNET of Things? Thermostats, Cars, Cards, Gaming systems. Better linking of everything is something everyone looks for. I myself can control my phone through my phone, my thermostat through my phone and my playstation from my phone and vise versa. I can even remote access my moms computer or her phone to help her with any questions.

    1. What is the INTERNET of THINGS and why is it important?
The internet of things is the combination of technology previously used and the internet. It is very crucial for businesses to use the internet of things because so many companies use it already that it would be a drawback to not use it. It is extremely beneficial for the environment since it doesn’t have any waste and is extremely efficient and effective.
    2. List some market technologies that you see around you that are part of this INTERNET of Things
There are many devices that we see every day that are part of the internet of things. These things range from the iPhone to the Nest home thermostat. The iPhone allows us to connect to many things all at once with just the touch of a finger. It enables the user to communicate with business partners via email or even FaceTime if the individual wants to have a more formal meeting. The Nest allows individuals to control their temperature in their home while they are away, which is extremely beneficial. It is extremely efficient and with the use of a smartphone, the home owner is able to control the temperature in the house while they are lying in bed. The internet of things is extremely beneficial for today’s society.

The Internet of things is the concept that everything is connected through a network. This includes the ability of technology to allow you to interact with an object without actually being near it. These things can interact with each other even, and smart technology is on the upswing. Today, 75% of people have access to the internet, and there are over 6 billion devices that are connected to the internet in one way or another. The availability of the internet has changed the way that businesses are run and how we live our lives.

Some of the technologies today include the fridge computers that send a grocery list to your phone, PVRs that can be set from your smart phone, services like uber readily available at your fingers, and even cell phones what have internet connection would be included in this. Technological breakthrough have proven that the future holds great things for us.

The Internet of things is the possibility for a physical objects to connect to the Internet and the possibility to communicate to other connected physical objects. These new objects as they are connected to each other improves the efficiency and effectiveness of tasks and the evident result of it is that
these innovation make our lives easier, which explains this growing popularity of the internet of thing. However, the new demande managers and companies face challenges to meet consumer’s desires and needs to envision the valuable new offerings that become possible when the physical world is merged with the virtual world.

The Internet of things has effectively entered in consumer’s home especially if we take a look at the sector of home automation. Home automation is the control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems by the connected devices to provide or improve convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security. It is to me one the most accurate example of the Internet of things because the network connected devices communicate to automate the home, the housework or the household activity. For example, with this technology your fridge can order on internet the food that you are running out of or if your house is on fire central device can call 911.

The Internet of things is the concept that everything is connected through a network. Physical items around you that you can control without even being near it. These things can interact with each other even, and smart technology is on the upswing. Today, 75% of people have access to the internet, and there are over 6 billion devices that are connected to the internet in one way or another. This is all important because this is really bringing us into a new age of technology. With everything being “smart” in one way or another, it allows us to be more efficient overall, and can help us in the long run.

Some of the technologies today include thermostats in your house that you can control via your phone; TV PVRs that can be set from the internet away from your house; coffee makers that can be told what kind of coffee you want and make it from across the room; services like uber and car2go; even cell phones what have internet connection would be included in this. Smartwatches, security cameras, refrigerators, even cups that tell you what the liquid is within it and how many calories it contains. The possibilities are endless!

    1. What is the INTERNET of THINGS and why is it important?
The connection of devices and things to the internet is known as the INTERNET OF THINGS. According to this article, 75% of the world’s population will have access to the internet. That is almost over 6 billion users connected to the internet who are able to interact with each other, access information on the world wide web which helps in the increase of informed individuals which indirectly helps in the increase of economy. The INTERNET OF THINGS is as useful to businesses as it is to people, mainly because some manufacturers produce more margins from related service than the actual product itself. Though these are very traditional manufacturers in the field of manufacturing paper-making machine, etc.

    2. List some market technologies that you see around you that are part of this INTERNET of things
We are connected to the Internet with almost every piece of technology we own these days. Phones are some of the most common devices that almost everyone owns, phones these days have internet connectivity and are able to use social media sites, internet gaming apps, emails and the world wide web. Desktops and laptop are also very common technology used almost everywhere, these again connect you to the internet. With the introduction of cloud computing most people’s computers and phones are networked together these days. Security products are also a good example of technology that are part of the INTERNET OF THINGS, these products are able to connect to the internet to provide more security to the customer. An example is a security camera which transfers real time video feed right to your mobile or computer using the Internet.

1 and 2. The internet of things is the transition of our once independent devices and gadgets to interconnected smart devices. Honestly i can remember the first time i saw a fridge with a tv in it and i thought it was odd, however, today we have fridges that help you track what’s in them are connected to the internet and can create ( or in some instances) even order the items that you’re running low on. This transition has me excited at the possibilities of the future but also at the same time has me concerned with our ever diminishing privacy. It would seem that this new fridge while giving me an array of options that may indeed save me time, it also could be bold enough to connect with my new internet connected scale and tv and decide that I spend to much time on the couch prompting a smart array of ads for healthy new food and exercise. In essence my new fridge has called me fat and leaves me wondering do I really want everything to be connected? Surely most future items will be interconnected and yes this could be extremely convenient but if my fridge actually calls me fat at some point I promise it wont be plugged in for long.

I, for one, welcome our new Wife connected Fridge overlords. In all seriousness, the connectivity of everything is amazing. If I wasn’t poor, I could increase my heat with my phone, I could start my non-existent car from my computer. The “internet of things” has become pervasive throughout everyday life.

The article mentions the traditionalists fighting against the uber-connectivity path we are headed down. And to an extent, I get that. If I was to try to explain why my Fridge needs to know the weather outside to the Grandpa, he would probably take his hearing aid out and go back to making his oatmeal. Who need this? Is this eve worth doing? Did we consider what we would be giving up when we started designing these things? Now, I can get all the information I could ever want from my smartphone. But what’s the next item that we lose our reality to?

As a millennial (if you want to sound like you don’t know what you are talking about use this word), I guess I don’t even think twice about it. Technology is cool. I grew up with it. Why wouldn’t it be good? But maybe, we should start to think a little about how connected we really should be.

What is the internet of things and why is it important?
The internet of things is basically the network of physical objects that are able to connect to the internet. There are numerous devices which allow users to interact with others across the world, stay connected and up to date with economic trends through the stock market and online media resources. This also allows companies to adapt to changes in technology in their industry and allows data exchange through mobile devices for employees of these companies. This technology also gives users the mobility to access company information and data from almost anywhere in the world which creates a global relationship between employees and headquarters that was not as easily accessible before the internet of things was introduced into the global marketplace.
List some market technologies that you see around you that are part of this Internet of Things.
-Cell phones- Cell phones connect the users to virtually everything, from buying clothes online to meeting your future spouse.
-Computer- Although the most obvious, computers are revolutionary and are always changing, they are also more interactive and easier to use and connect to the internet than ever before, this change allows more users and demographics of people to be connected.
-Security systems- Security systems now don’t necessarily need a phone line to protect your home, but instead are set up on a network which allows for your home and home automation devices, such as door locks and thermostats, to be controlled from anywhere in the world with a network connection.

    1. What is the Internet of Things and why is it important?

The internet of things is physical objects that are connected to the internet and communicate with people and other devices. The internet of things include many different types of phones, systems, laptops, cameras, gaming devices, debit machines automobiles and much more. It is very important in modern day society because it allows society to function with more connectivity between people and objects, and subsequently creates a new marketplace from multiple industries with competition and technological efficiency.

    2. List some market technologies that you see around you that are part of this INTERNET of Things?

Some market technologies could include my iPhone, which allows me to talk and text and surf the internet whenever id like. My Laptop allows me to play video games and look at social media, and connect with other people via skype. My car and its GPS/internet connection allow me to find places easily and my smart TV that records certain shows at certain time. The IoT encompasses all of modern day living and the devices we use when we connect to the web. As I write this sentence, I am using technology that is connected to the internet of things!

    1. The Internet of things is the transformation of old technology/ devices and linking them to the Internet. Linking these devices to the Internet opens up world winds of new possibilities for the products. It can increase convenience, efficiency as well eco-friendliness. It is important because as the world continues to expand towards more and more IT based systems it allows us to have more control. We can now control the temperature of our houses with our phones or watches; these things rarely leave our side and continue to become increasingly important in our lives.
    2. The amount of new products involved in the Internet of things we see in the market is continuously increasing. Examples we see today would be: the Apple watch, security systems you can control from your phone, TV’s you can control from your phone, never mind the most popular device in people’s pockets, the IPhone. The IPhone is the most astonishing product we’ve seen as consumers in a very long time. The reason it is apart of the Internet of things is because it takes an ordinary phone and connects it to the Internet. Now with an IPhone or any smart phone in fact it is like you are walking around with a mini computer in your pocket.
